Fight Week news: Pacquiao vs Bradley 2 schedule of events and more

With less than a week before the first and perhaps biggest bout of the spring 2014 boxing season, events are ramping up for the rematch of Manny Pacquiao versus Timothy Bradley, Jr. in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 12.

Eight division champion Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KOs) and current WBO welterweight title holder Bradley (31-0, 12 KOs) meet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The fight will be shown on HBO pay per view on Saturday April 12, at 9 p.m. ET. Communities Digital News will host a live online chat starting at 9 p.m. ET with the televised undercard fights.

Short of scoring yourself one of the remaining $1,000 ringside seats for the fight, there will be plenty of ways for fight fans to enjoy the action from afar.

As part of their marketing agreement, ESPN will have access to HBO’s fight content, including post-fight, in-ring interviews, press conference and weigh-in coverage, HBO’s behind-the-scenes reality series “24/7: Pacquiao/Bradley 2,” classic Pacquiao and Bradley fights and Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2 non-televised undercard fights.

All Week

ESPN Classic and ESPN Deportes will air a selection of previous fights by Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley including Pacquiao vs. Bradley I, and Bradley vs. Ruslan Provodnikov, which was nearly every boxing writer’s 2013 Fight of the Year (including mine).

ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and HBO will air repeats of the first two episodes of “24/7: Pacquiao vs Bradley 2,” HBO’s Emmy-Award-winning all-access reality series, following both fighters as they prepare for their showdown throughout the week. Check listings for showtimes. Friday and Saturday, the third and final episode will be added to the schedule leading up to Saturday’s bout. All episodes are also available on demand at HBOGo.
